World Softball Association was founded
February 2002 by four softball enthusiatics,
whom wanted to change the way the sport was
currently being played. They wanted to make it
organized as with the other organizations. Their
goal was to make it "family oriented"; create an
environment were fairness and safety were the
key elements.

To date the organization has grown from just
slo-pitch softball, it now has incorporated -
youth fast pitch, seniors and other specialties
groups as part of its 2005 schedule. The
organization has also expanded its territory to
include other Southeastern states - Alabama,
Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and
Tennessee. WSA also have an industrial league
that bears its signature.
